Sheffield launch brings a heavyweight house and disco line-up on Friday 6 November, with Theon Bower and a La Rumba room two takeover

Fever 105 will launch in Sheffield at Electric Studios on Friday 6 November, bringing together Dan Shake, Horse Meat Disco, MiNNA and Theon Bower for a major night of house and disco in the city centre.

The event brings the London-based party brand to Sheffield with a line-up spanning soulful house, disco and underground club music, alongside a room two takeover from Sheffield collective La Rumba.

Dan Shake has built an international reputation around a distinctive mix of house, disco and soul. The London DJ and producer became the first non-Detroit artist to release on Moodymann’s Mahogani Music, and has since established himself as a fixture on club and festival line-ups across Europe and beyond.

Horse Meat Disco have spent more than two decades at the centre of queer club culture. Formed around their long-running Sunday residency at The Eagle in Vauxhall, the London collective have taken their blend of disco, house, funk, soul and Italo to clubs and festivals around the world.

MiNNA brings an upbeat, groove-led sound drawing on 1970s disco, old-school house and vocal dance music. The London selector has played venues including fabric, KOKO and The Jazz Cafe, alongside festival appearances including Glastonbury, Houghton and Lost Village.

Theon Bower is a South London DJ, producer and label head behind Fever 105 and Swung Out Records, with a sound rooted in house, disco and underground electronic music.

The Sheffield launch lands in the middle of a busy first autumn for Electric Studios, following last week’s announcement that Girls Don’t Sync will headline a major Halloween show on 31 October. The former Leadmill building is increasingly operating as a home for both major club events and touring live artists.

The wider programme includes Dusky bringing their Signals Tour to Sheffield on 16 October, The Sound of Bassline on 17 October, Milburn’s three-night hometown celebration, Girls Don’t Sync on Halloween, Chicane on 7 November, Reef on 12 November, Joshua Idehen on 14 November and Barenaked Ladies on 11 December.

For local audiences and visiting club-goers, the event offers a rare opportunity to see internationally recognised acts such as Dan Shake and Horse Meat Disco in a city centre setting, alongside established local collectives like La Rumba.
